The Lifetime Musician curriculum correlates with the learning goals of your favorite piano method, and it meets or exceeds the standards for achievement in theory and ear training set forth by many state music teachers associations. We suggest that you work with the Lifetime Musician course. If you participate in a state music teacher's association achievement evaluation, use the review courses to focus study leading up to the exams.

Name the white keys of the piano keyboard.
Name all treble and bass staff lines and spaces.
Name the lines and spaces of the C and G Major pentascales, treble and bass, and “play” them on the onscreen piano keyboard.
Identify melodic steps and skips on the staff.
Place bar lines correctly in melodies in 4/4 time signatures using quarter, half, and whole notes.

Identify high and low pitches.
Identify whether pitch patterns go up,
go down, or stay the same.
Identify music as faster or slower.
Identify whether two pitch patterns are
the same or different.
Identify whether the music heard is moving by steps, skips, or repeated notes
Hear and play back pitch patterns of do-re and do-re-mi starting with one tone and progressing to at least five tones. (Tonal memory)
